It’s Library Time!

We went to the library today! I love going to the library and I want to instill that love in my little one, but we haven’t been in a long time because life has been too busy. Since i’m on vacation, I decided to try to plan some fun things with my little one, so off we went on our library adventure.

The problem was that I didn’t know which books to get for him! I usually bring books home from my job, since a lot of people donate the books their children have outgrown or no longer read. He is also subscribed to the Imagination Library, so he gets a new book once a month from them.

I tried to remember some books I loved as a child or books my older son loved, but I wasn’t coming up with much. Ugh! So I grabbed a few random books and read them quickly to see if they were worth taking home. Talk about time consuming!!

So, here is my plan:

I will start with this list (we already own a few) and look for other similar lists. Since he loves books, I’m sure we’ll go through them quickly. I also want to incorporate Christian story books, but we will buy those since the library does not have a large selection in that category.

Overall, I think it was a great experience for him. He played at the lego table with some kids, we read a book together and explored some other parts of the library (including the bathroom – he’s 4 – so we had to). 🙂  We will definitely be back next week.
